Fancy Nancy Tea Party

We had a fabulous tea party with young ladies and gentleman for Winter Carnival.

Happy Halloween

I had so much fun handing out books, stickers, bookmarks and crosswords to trick-or-treaters yesterday! We love being a part of the Downtown Vernon Association’s Treat Trail. Awesome costumes everyone! Who can figure out who I was? (Hint, she’s in a book, a graphic novel and a movie. The library owns all three)

Star Wars Reads Day

Star Wars Reads Day was lots of fun!

Thanks to the 501st for visiting the library, Subway for giving us awesome bags to hand out, and Friends of the Library for the craft supplies.

Meet the librarian

Hi, I’m Stephanie, your new Youth Services Librarian at the Vernon Branch of Okanagan Regional Library. If you see a curly-haired young lady in glasses wearing a silly hat, holding a puppet, covered in paint or carrying too many books that’s probably me- come say hi!

I will be doing the storytimes on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Judy will be doing the storytimes Monday and Tuesday, along with toddlertime on Wednesdays.

Starting October 29th we are going to have new programs for kids age 7 and up. Every Saturday at 1:00pm there will be a wacky theme like aliens or spies or wizards and the meeting room (over by the bathrooms) will be the place to be. Registering for Saturday events is wise just to make sure there’s a spot for you.

Plus, we have 2 after school programs now!

  • On Tuesdays you can drop in and play board games, I’ll provide the games and help explain the rules.
  • On Wednesday you come write and learn about writing, I’ll help you brainstorm and give you ways to share your ideas

I’m also the person you come see if you want some ideas about what books to read, or if you want to learn about our cool new interactive catalogue.

Teachers can ask me about visiting their class.

If you have any questions about children’s events at the library you can e-mail me @
